Fund the Change You Want in Your Community

The Grantsmanship Center and the Native Development Network are excited to provide customized training for members of Indian Country. The acclaimed Grantsmanship Training Program  is now offered in a special package focused on the needs of Tribes/ Native Nations, Tribally-owned organizations, CBOs, and Urban Indian nonprofit organizations.

This powerful training experience, which has helped hundreds of Native organizations, is now even more targeted to help you learn how to plan projects for maximum community benefit and learn how to get those projects funded, even in highly competitive environments.

Why Sponsor the Grantsmanship Training Program?

Because it works! Half a century of success proves this training produces results. Culturally relevant, delivered virtually or in-person, this is a learning experience delivered by trainers with deep grants know-how plus experience serving the needs of Native American communities.

Bring this training to your community! As Sponsor, you select best dates for your group, choose the location, select the participants and cover the fee. Often, the cost is handled by a collaboration or helped by underwriting.

Training Curriculum

Learn to identify funders that are a good fit for your work so your time is focused on getting results, not random ‘shot-gun’ efforts. Reach out to grantmakers who have a record of supporting the kind of work you do or want to do. This thoughtful , directed approach will dramatically raise your success rates.

Learn how to put it all together. Create proposals that clearly and powerfully tell your story, inspiring funding. You learn by actually drafting real grant proposals in class, working with a small team. Input from caring colleagues is anchored by the expertise of your trainer for an invigorating, productive process.

Review the proposals written in class examining them from a funder’s point of view. Learn what works, what doesn’t and why—all within a constructive, respectful space. Share the joy of empowerment as you and your classmates finish the training ready to head back to work. You'll have new skills to put into practice, along with a stack of proposals written and reviewed in class, plus valuable tools from the e-notebook and textbook, Grantsmanship: Program Planning & Proposal Writing.
